Imparting Skills

So, I've now been teaching the equivalent of Freshman Comp. for about two months. And I'm loving it. It is sooooo nice to find out that I do enjoy teaching (as I was pretty sure I would, but wasn't positively certain), and, therefore, that graduate school is worth the work. I'm no longer afraid that I am getting the degree in order to get a degree and because I didn't know what else to do.

And at parent's weekend coffee-thingy, one of my students told me, with their parents standing right there, that mine was the only class she wasn't ever tempted to sleep in. So that is something, anyway. I'm doing something right.
And I think they are actually getting better at writing. So. Second round of papers due on Friday. We'll see if they are better than the first.
In the meantime, I really need to catch up on my own work, which doesn't seem nearly as fascinating as teaching...
