I apparently have failed at this posting every day in November thing. Ah well. I suppose I'll just have to do an extra long post today to make up for it. Under the cut: Friends, the Drive, and a few pictures.

Mosquitos, Spiders, and Millipedes
So, I believe that enough time has passed that I can face writing the entry I tried to post a few nights ago all over again.

>:(
So, last night I wrote a pretty long post on here about mosquitos and spiders and millipedes and why I prefer to sleep with covers. I typed it all out on my iPod (which is a little old and slowing down some) and it took quite a while. I then went to post it, and discovered an error message. I then tried to post a note saying that I gave up, and got another error message. Frustrating. But. I did just give up. So, I wrote a Blog Post even though it didn't post and I'm counting as if I did do a post yesterday for Nano.

No Storm
Today as I was walking home, it seemed as if a storm was going to come in. It was just past 4:00 and the clouds were heavy and dark. There was a little wind that was making the orange and tan leaves swirl around the trees.

An Unproductive Afternoon
I had plans for today -- getting my oil changed and possibly the car washed. Doing laundry (only I had to put it off because of the fact that the bank is closed on Saturdays and Sundays and so I couldn't get quarters.) Finishing grading the stack of essays my students turned in a week and a half ago (which really I should have finished on Friday but I gave up and went to sleep).

The Sign of the Seahorse
I spent an enjoyable few hours today at the "Friends of the Library" book sale. I ended up buying far too many books for fun, some classic and some random ones that I have vague pleasant associated memories with. I think my "treasure" for the day was The Sign of the Seahorse: A Tale of Greed and High Adventure in Two Acts by Graeme Base.

Travel Itch
I bought my tickets for Christmas vacation last week. I'm excited for Christmas (although a little alarmed by how soon it is coming and how much I have to finish and accomplish before then) for a number of reasons.

Nov. 2 and I almost forgot already...
Well, that resolve almost ended -- only remembered deciding to post just before I went to bed. This will probably come out very disjointed.

In Honor of NaNoWriMo
One year, I will do NaNoWriMo. But probably not while I'm in graduate school. (I did start to try one year as an undergrad, but semesters ending the first few weeks of December means that students do quite enough writing in November -- especially Literature or other heavy-writing-major students -- without adding 50,000 optional words. This only gets worse in Grad school. I'll be writing about Thomas Traherne this November rather than any ideas I could come up with for a novel). However, I've seen others doing alternatives, and one of them is to write a blog post every day. So. That is my goal. It is a stated intention, written and published on the Internet (even if I only know of one person who actually knows that this blog exists. Hi Tissa!).
I figure I can find something to write about every day. Probably. Maybe. Even if it is just a short post like this one.
